For those looking for GPS maps of the Philippines, the internet has a lot of them. Most of these maps are compatible to a wide of recievers.

Roadguide.ph is one of the sites that offers these types of maps. Two types of maps are available for download; a demo map and a contributor map. Its a community-run site so you need to register in order to download a map. It's free and the forum members are quite helpful. The demo map is available to everyone and would serve of great use especially to those living in the cities. However, the contibutor map is only availble for, well, contributors! They say it's better that the demo map since it is more detailed has way more waypoints and roads.

After further digging the net, the GPS map compiled by Maning Sambale from OpenStreetMap stands out by offering, by far, the best free GPS map of the Philippines. For one, its road network is more extensive plus they are color-coded. It is compatible to most Garmin recievers and GPS enabled phones Garmin Mobile XT. The site features the 'downloadable' Windows Mapsource version. Apple users need not fret because a Mac Roadtrip download is also available.

Other notable sites that offer Philippine GPS maps are the following:
Mapcenter2
Mapsntrails
Waypoints.ph

Geodesy for the Layman

Geodesy for the Layman (Geo4lay)

This is the introductory literature used in both Geometric Geodesy and Physical Geodesy.
